When Nowell Meller merged with another legal practice they had a requirement to not only link 3 sites together but to also have a DR (disaster recovery) facility available in case of emergencies.
As part of our solution we implemented two point-to-point WANs between the 3 sites which allows data to flow reliably and quickly between them and a DR facility on one of the principle sites in case of a major services outage.
Key technologies deployed was 3Com Layer 3 switches which handles all of the routing, HP ProLiant fault-tolerant servers and Double-Take software (www.doubletake.com) which is continually replicating the clientâ€™s data and Microsoft Exchange email system from one site to another nearly 30 miles away.
