Based in Haslingden, Lancashire, Solomon is the leading UK manufacturer of refrigerated and insulated bodywork to suit rigid vehicles. Solomon have specialised in this field for over 30 years and their expert knowledge in the manufacture of termperature controlled bodywork has helped them become the major force they are today.
Solomon had an ongoing issue where the company directors and national sales team only had sporadic access to email whilst they were out of the office and away from any Internet connection. The legacy email system in use at the time had no mobile email options available and only very limited web-client features.
It was imporatant that any solution proposed had to be reliable, simple to use and would require the minimum of support. To meet this brief, NCS recommended a complete solution which centred on Microsoft Exchange 2007. This solution was deployed in a short period of time with the minimum of downtime and little user interruption. HTC Windows Mobile devices were also recommended giving the sales team the ability to be able to view email attachments such as Word documents and Excel spreadsheets in addtion to the full array of Exchange features.
All staff now have access to a reliable and feature-rich email system – email, calendars, attachments and contacts are all available no matter where they are or what type of deivce they are using. PCs, laptops and Windows Mobile Phones can all connect securely. Information is now available 24 hours a day ensureing that emails from either customers or suppliers can be dealt with promptly.
“Over the years NCS have given us great support with honest advice on developing our IT infrastructure. A constant, steady approach to upgrading our systems keeps us ahead of our competition”
Mark Solomon, Managing Director
