Webroot, an IT security manufacturer, have also released their “Mid-Year Threat Report Update” which focuses on trends for the first half of the year.
The report found that general malware, which includes both ransomware and crypto-mining, made up 52% of cybersecurity threats and crypto-jacking alone accounted for 35% of those threats.
Crypto-jacking involves maliciously using a computer’s processing power to mine cryptocurrency.
