Today, we have been awarded the “Cyber Essentials Plus” certification.
Cyber Essentials is a Government-backed scheme through the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) to help businesses improve their cyber security defences and demonstrate publicly their commitment to cyber security.
The basic certification allows organisations to review their cyber security through self-assessment to verify their IT is secure and meets the standards set by Cyber Essentials. Cyber Essentials Plus is a more rigorous process where a separate, independent cyber security audit is carried out by an external company.
Andrew Charlesworth, our Technical Director said, “We are very happy to have received the Cyber Essentials Plus certification. The team has worked hard to ensure our systems are secured against any cyber attacks. We hope this will also reassure our customers that we are constantly reviewing our cyber security measures to ensure we are aware of the latest threats and how to defend against them.”
The Cyber Essentials Plus certification is in addition to our British Standard ISO27001 accreditation which we received in 2009, one of the first IT resellers in the UK to do so. The ISO accreditation is awarded to companies who have proven methods in place to keep information assets secure. In preparation for this, we developed our own in-house Information Security Management System (ISMS) as a way to manage sensitive company information so that it remains secure and employs a risk management process.
