We are proud to sponsor Halifax based primary school, Whitehill Community Academy as they enter the Formula One in Schools competition.
Based around a STEM framework (science, technology, engineering and math’s), this global competition allows students aged 9 to 19 to build their own race car following the same processes as real Formula One teams. Students plan, design, manufacture then eventually race their 20cm race cars on a 20m track against other schools.
Whitehill Community Academies team the ‘Flashing Flames’ won the regional finals in March 2015 and will now compete in the national finals on 22nd June 2015 at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry.
In previous years, the school has ranked 6th nationally, however are hoping for a win this year as they use previous race feedback to make modifications to this year’s model which will enhance speed of their cars.
Fingers crossed for some good news, further updates will follow shortly.
