birthday cakeNCS News
This time last year we decided that instead of
each bringing cakes into the office for our
birthdays, we would instead donate money to a
charity pot which we would count at the end of
the year and donate to a worthwhile cause.
We managed to raise £150 through “cake donations”
which NCS has matched, so we will be donating
£150 each to two local charities close to our hearts
instead of one.
We will reveal the recipients soon so keep your eyes
peeled!

Top Tips
We’ve been reviewing the most popular advice
articles on our website last year. The most popular
item was “Top Tips for Controlling your Server Room
Temperature
” – probably not something you need to
worry about today…
This was followed by our top tips to improve your
password security
to celebrate World Password Day on
4th May. Our third most-popular advice item was an
overview of GDPR
which comes into effect later this year.
If there are any topics you would like us to cover in future
articles, please drop me an email >

warningWarnings & Alerts
Last week, Google’s security team discovered two
processor vulnerabilities known as Spectre and Meltdown.
The weaknesses allow an attacker to access sensitive
information inside the protected memory section on modern
computer processors and mobile phones. You can find out
more and read the guidance from the National Cyber Security
Centre (NCSC) here >

Please ensure that you download and install any
security updates as soon as they become available.

Recruitment
We’re currently recruiting for part-time/full-time Telesales
Staff to join our busy Sales Department in our Rawtenstall

The successful candidate(s) will be promoting our IT solutions
