Carl Nelson, Managing Director
Having been involved in the IT industry for over 30 years, our Managing Director has a wealth of experience in bringing reliable IT solutions to businesses. His vision and steering means many customers have trusted NCS for support and guidance for a number of years.
Away from work, and when family time allows, Carl is a very keen cyclist and fell-runner having competed in many races over the years. It is fair to say that he quite likes mud.
Andrew Charlesworth, Technical Director
Andrew is our Technical Director and has worked for the company since 1997. He is responsible for managing the engineering team of field and remote engineers, as well as liaising with the sales team to provide technical expertise for more complex solutions.
Andrew enjoys playing the piano in his spare time and spending too much money on camera equipment. He has two girls and consequently can recognise any episode of “The Deep” within 30 seconds.
Samantha Whittaker, Financial Director
Samantha started with the company in 1998 as an Accounts Clerk. She became Sage 50 Accounts and Payroll Accredited not long after and became our Finance Director in 2007.
Samantha likes spending time with her youngest daughter at the stables, shopping with her eldest daughter and eating out or entertaining with her husband and friends.
Jeremy Santhouse, Sales Director
Jeremy is our Sales Director. He joined NCS in 1996, making him one of the company’s longest-serving employees.
He lives in Manchester with a small collection of guitars and synthesizers. He claims that, in his spare time, he does “something to do with music”.
Daryn Craine, Network Engineer
Daryn is one of our newest Network Engineers. He has been working in IT since 2007 with SMEs of varying sizes and complexity.
He has a love of Star Wars and Star Trek in equal measure and spends his spare time doing as he is told by his wife for an easy life, looking after “the most amazingly talented, pain-in-the-bum nine-year-old” and occasionally, whenever he gets time to himself, stalking through the woods shooting friends with little plastic balls!
Dan Holt, Helpdesk Engineer
Dan is a Helpdesk Engineer at NCS and you’ll likely speak to him as one of your first points of contact.
He has always had a keen interest in IT and where the industry is going. Other than his interests in IT he enjoys football, tennis, film, music and playing 3 or 4 chords with excessive amounts of distortion on his guitar. He has a perfectly healthy and rational phobia of clowns and horses, and fears the two meeting to create an evil army of clowns on horseback.
Andy Long, Business Development Manager
Andy returned to NCS in 2019 after a 5 year break working for various Managed Service Providers in account management.
Away from the office, his three children keep him busy and he is also a keen guitarist and photographer.
Matthew McDonald, Helpdesk Apprentice
Matthew joined the company early in 2019 as our Helpdesk Apprentice. He has always wanted to work in IT and is currently working towards gaining his qualifications whilst gaining “on the job” experience at NCS.
In his spare time, Matthew enjoys playing computer games and hiking up Pendle Hill and he has just passed his driving test.
Chris Nelson, Purchasing Manager
Chris, or “Big Chris” as he is more commonly known, has been with company for 25 years. As Purchasing Manager, he is responsible for buying all stock and ensuring orders are fulfilled.
An avid musician, Chris enjoys playing keyboard, guitar or any instrument that takes his fancy. His vices include gigging, the pub and watching Manchester United.
David Oldham, Engineer
David returned to NCS in 2020 after a brief hiatus, having originally started at the company in 2005. David is now involved with projects big and small for a wide variety of customers.
In his spare time, David likes to relax by watching a film or the football. You’ll also find him in the gym and going for walks which he combines with his love of landscape photography.
Ian Rollo, Network Engineer
Ian is one of our Network Engineers. He has been with the company for over 15 years but can’t remember exactly how long. As a field engineer you have no doubt already met him.
Ian lives with his significant other and two lovely children, at least as they seem through his rosy glasses. He enjoys music, sunny walks and computer games.
Chris Rawstron, Helpdesk Engineer
Chris started with NCS as an apprentice in 2011 and has progressed to full time employment as a Helpdesk Engineer. His nickname in the office is LC (Little Chris).
Outside work, Chris enjoys watching football and is a supporter of Arsenal Football Club. His other interests include playing computer games and he enjoys playing snooker/pool when he gets the chance.
Mackenzie Ritson, Accounts Apprentice
Mackenzie joined us in 2019 as our Accounts Apprentice working with Samantha, our Finance Director whilst he also studies for his qualifications at College.
Tim Scruton, Network Engineer
Tim has been with NCS since 2004. With over 15 years’ experience and multiple Microsoft accreditations, he spends most of his time providing technical support to customers and sharing our IT expertise through regular site visits.
When not at work he spends time with the family and tries to get out and about as much as possible.
John Rudd, Business Development Manager
John has worked in the I.T partner channel for over 25 years and brings a wealth of international experience. At NCS, John is responsible for new business and business development working closely with our partners.
Outside of work, John has developed a second career as an unpaid chauffeur for his 4 children.
Victoria Whittaker, Client Coordinator
Victoria is our Client Coordinator who is responsible for providing assistance to the sales team, producing monthly reports, spreadsheets and dealing with enquiries. You will probably have spoken to her when you have got in touch with any of the sales team!
She is a very bubbly person who likes to keep the sales team on their toes! Away from work she enjoys eating well and drinking prosecco!
Kirsty Taylor, Marketing
Kirsty joined us in 2016 to look after our marketing and communications.
Kirsty is responsible for all of our marketing and PR communications and will no doubt be popping up in your inbox on a regular basis with news and security tips.
Away from the office, she enjoys spending time with her fiancé and young daughters and spends her “me-time” in the gym!
Ross Tomlinson, Helpdesk Engineer
Ross is one of our Helpdesk Engineers. He has worked in IT since 2011 so has lots of experience dealing with different IT issues. He has a keen interest in technology and enjoys learning new things.
Outside work, he likes playing sport, walking and spending time with his partner. He’s also a keen football fan and supports Manchester United.
Sandra Wilson, Helpdesk Supervisor
Sandra joined the company in 2003 as an Office Administrator, over the years she has progressed to her current position of Helpdesk Supervisor. She has her work cut out for her on a daily basis with organising and keeping our engineering team in line but loves every minute as the only female in the department.
Sandra’s main interests include going to the gym a few times a week, general socialising and newly found interest in camping/festivals after realising there is definitely life after the kids have grown up!
