School turns to NCS for Apple Network
NCS have rolled out a network of 76 Apple iMacs to a school in Halifax. Each Mac can dual boot with OSX Snow Leopard and Windows 7 to give the pupils access to both operating systems. The back-end includes a Mac XServe and several Windows 2008 servers running in a Virtual Environment.

NCS Sponsor Prestigious Awards
NCS were a key sponsor of the prestigious Groundwork Merseyside Environmental Awards 2008, held at the Crowne Plaza hotel in Liverpool. The awards, which are now in their ninth successive year, give Groundwork the opportunity to champion and showcase some of the tremendous environmental projects, activities and initiatives from all sectors that really have an impact across Merseyside.

NCS new VoIP phone system goes live
Late last week our new VoIP (Voice over IP) PBX phone system went live.
Our new system we believe, will provide NCS with additional features that will serve us well for the coming years.
One major change customers will now see is our automated answering service which will guide you through to individual departments within the company. We would welcome your views on this new facility.
NCS Aquire Axion Systems
NCS have recently completed the acquisition of Clitheroe-based IT reseller Axion Systems Ltd.
Axion were founded in 1990 and was known locally as a Sage Line 100 dealership and provider of computer networks. It was important for Axion’s management that their long established customers would be serviced by a company with the same strong values and excellent customer service record.
NCS have made great efforts to ensure the switchover from Axion has been as seamless as possible for Axion customers, many of whom are already benefitting from NCSs greater coverage and engineering skills.
Andrew Charlesworth, Technical Director of NCS said, “Axion customers can now take advantage of our engineers’ wide technical experience, covering office connectivity, remote networking and mobile working”
NCS Managing Director, Carl Nelson, adds “I would like to take this opportunity to once again welcome the Axion staff and customers and hope that we can continue to develop our relationships over the coming years.”
NCS gain ISO standard
NCS have become one of the first IT resellers in the UK to gain the British Standard ISO27001 accreditation.
For the past 12 months, we have been developing our own in-house Information Security Management System (ISMS). Following a gruelling internal audit by a BSi auditor, it was announced that we had gained the prestigious accreditation. Much of the preparation was carried out by NCSs Technical Director, Andrew Charlesworth, who worked tirelessly to ensure that the audit was a success.
“We believe the skills and processes gained from this experience will be of benefit to our customers”, Andrew said . “An Information Security Management System is a systematic approach to managing sensitive company information so that it remains secure”
He added, “this puts us in good stead to advise our customers on best practice, especially with regards to network security and disaster recovery”
